Crete Adventures offers adventure activity packages that include: activity programmes, accommodation, catering and all in country transfers to schools, youth groups and corporate groups planning a residential trip to the Chania district of Crete. This area of Crete has some of the most beautiful countryside on the whole of the island. This really is the ultimate school residential overseas with the added “WAW” factor.

Due to Crete’s early spring and late summer, we operate from April 1 until May 31, then September 1 until October 31. We do not operate in peak season due to extremely high accommodation and catering costs. It is also really too hot for the adventurous activities that we undertake.

We operate from the small fishing village of Kalyves, but provide activities as far east as Rethymnon and as far west as Falasarna. We offer our adventure activities to: School Groups, social groups of 10 + and Corporate Events Organisers who wish to visit Crete for a multi day adventure residential or visit.

We have over 20 years experience in delivering adventure activities in Crete. We offer an all inclusive package with activities, accommodation and catering a with a mixture of cultural/archaeological visits and activities on a full, half board or self catering basis. Alternatively we can offer simply an activity programme to fit around any arrangements you may already have in place on a visit to Crete. In short we will work with you to develop the activity programme that you need to make the most of your visit to Crete.

We provide transfers to and from your airport in Crete and your accommodation, also transport to all the activity locations on your activity programme. We strictly use our approved provider , George of GT Travel, taxi and mini bus company.

We have a dedicated team of English speaking specialist instructors that lead our outdoor activities in Crete, and a UK based team that join the Crete team for school residentials. All equipment used for outdoor activities in Crete are EU tested and approved and is inspected by the Crete team to the same rigorous procedure as UK regulations.

We have extensive experience of delivering adventure activity trips to Crete, you can choose either a five six or seven day Cretan activity residential.  Simply go to our Sample Programmes page to see some of our “Off the shelf” activity packages. However, we will work with you to develop the exact activity programme that you want, however long or short your stay, and with the mix of activities and culture that you want. Our accommodation providers, are situated just on the edge of our village of Kalyves. Although each apartment has self-catering facilities we obviously provide full catering if this is your preference. All accommodation is 3 – 4 bedded, you can see the options available on the accommodation page. We use these providers because we have personally stayed with them in the past and found them to be first rate.

All of the apartments are just across a small beach road from the Mediterranean Sea, there is also a small private beach close by for that early morning dip. Your rooms will obviously in the same building and depending on your group size, you will mostly have the whole apartment block to yourself (Sole occupancy is available, but this may incur an underoccupancy subsidy if you have not taken all the rooms). If you choose the full catering option, catering is provided by a traditional family taverna just 5 minutes walk along the sea front. We have known and worked with this family taverna for over 30 year’s, they operate to a very high standard of quality delivering tradition Cretan dishes as well as some more familiar ones if you wish. You will be provided by a buffet breakfast including cooked foods as well as cereals, you will receive a packed lunch in the morning to take out on activities, the evening meal is a fixed choice of tradition Cretan dishes. Obviously all dietary needs can be catered for. Half board and B&B is also available if this is your preference.

Crete has a much more sympathetic climate for groups wishing to enjoy outdoor activities than many other European destinations, and is a bit more “Off the beaten track”  than the regular favourites such as, say France or Spain. Prices compare amicably with UK based activity residentials for similar lengths of stay, and are every bit as competitive with other European destinations. Cheap flights are now available to Crete which are comparable to some bus transfers to UK based activity centres! So long as you avoid school holiday dates, you can usually find a deal with flight operators or one of the specialist companies that organise flights for schools traveling abroad.
