Crete Adventures is a team of professional activity instructors who offer a wide range of activities in Western Crete in and around the Chania district. All instructors are skilled and qualified with NGB qualifications in their various disciplines they instruct, be it Coasteering along the fantastic coastline of Crete, Mountaineering in the White Mountains, guiding you through mountain gorges down to the sea. There is a permanent team of local English speaking instructors based in Crete who offer all year round activities to school groups and other large social groups of 10 or more on a multi day activity visit to Crete. Then there is a UK based team who are experienced international instructors who will fly out to Crete to support the Crete team on the larger bookings. All have excellent knowledge of our local customs, culture and activity venues that we use. Crete is a wonderful island with numerous opportunities to experience exciting adventurous activities in a truly beautiful landscape.

Crete Adventures: Gorge Trekking

We provide school activities visits exclusively in Western Crete, in particular within the Chania District. We believe that this area offers the best locations for adventurous activities. Our administration office is based in Vamos which is just up the road from Kalyves where we operate our school activity residentials in Crete. All of our instructors have been trained in the UK and all hold national governing body qualifications in the outdoor sports they lead. Our dedicated UK based Crete activity team is supported by local guides and instructors, whenever we are working with school groups in Crete so there is a wide breadth of local knowledge and experience available to you. Crete has been greatly overlooked as an activity destination and providers and customers are only just becoming aware of all it’s fantastic opportunities. Crete Adventures can offer you probably the most comprehensive range of activities in Crete. We are the only activity company in Crete that offers coasteering which is a very popular activity, which we bought over from our operations in Wales. We have over 20 years of experience in delivering adventure activities to schools and social groups in Crete, so we know all the best locations and secret hideaways to make your activity break a most memorable and pleasant experience.

When you are planning your school residential trip to Crete a member of “Team Crete” will co-ordinate with you to plan the perfect school residential with us in Crete. We are available to make school visits to deliver presentations to teachers and parents, and happy to discuss all aspects of your visit. We can even help out with identifying the best flights and deals. Once you have decided on your programme and it is time for you to fly out, our UK based instructors will meet you at your airport in Crete with our approved transport providers to make your transfer to Kalyves as smooth as possible. We will be able to offer any support you may need at the airport, and support you with all your immediate needs once you arrive in Kalyves. Accommodation, catering, activities and all in country transfers are part of the standard advertised package. A UK team member will be on duty 24 hours a day in Crete to manage any issues that you may have during your stay. You will be met every morning at 8:45 by the senior instructor to update you and brief you on the days events. The rest of the team will join you at 9:00 to start the days activities. A packed lunch and water is provided at the taverna after breakfast, so all your pupils need is their clothes and equipment for the day, some spending money if they wish, floppy hat and some sun cream! We return to Kalyves each afternoon in time to shower and enjoy some free time on the beach before your evening meal.
