Crete Adventures have been operating school activity trips to Crete for over 22 years, we are very experienced and have an extensive network of the best contacts in Crete to make your activity residential a very special trip. Due to Crete’s early spring and late summer, we operate from April 1 until May 31, then September 1 until October 31. We do not operate in peak season due to extremely high accommodation and catering costs. It is also really too hot for the adventurous activities that we undertake. This means you can benefit from the early Cretan spring and long Cretan summer. Also during these periods you can easily access cheap flights.
School Trip In Crete: Coasteering
Our fully catered activity school trips in Crete are based in the fishing village of Kalyves, which is in the Chania district of Crete. From here all our main activity locations are less than 30 minutes away.
If you want to do some of the more challenging activities, they are a little further away so travel can be up to about 45 minutes away. There are some locations an hour away but only if you choose them in your programme, but I can assure you the trip is worth it. All of our activity programmes can be changed to suit your individual needs. Our operational base in Kalyves has a lovely sand beach in the village to relax on after your day of activities. Also in the village there are plenty of shops and café’s to sit and watch the world go by.

We have an extensive range of activities to offer, some very familiar to what you may have experienced in the UK and some not so familiar. However all take place in this stunningly beautiful location which makes all the activities your pupils undertake a whole new experience for them. Your instructors are UK based but a part of our overseas team who undertake special training to deliver your favourite activities in this exciting location. All health and safety standards are to the same high standard as our UK centres so you can be sure that everything is operated correctly.

School Trips In Crete: Accommodation
We have a range of accommodation to suit all budget, however all are very modern and nicely furnished, self-catering flats that can sleep 3 – 4 people. Everyone is centrally fed in a family Taverna which is about a 5 minute walk from the accommodation. However, it is nice to have your own kitchenette to make the odd snack or cup of tea, so all rooms have a small self catering kitchenette. Just across the small beach road in front of the accommodation is a small private beach for you to enjoy for an early morning dip if you want.
Our main accommodation provider is a family owned business that prides itself on hospitality and service. There is a complex of three separate apartment blocks next to each other along the small beach road. Rooms have a self-catering kitchen and balcony that look over Souda Bay. We can accommodate up to 100 people within this complex. The taverna that deals with all our catering is about a five minute walk along the beach road. However two of the apartment block have a small café and snack bar for those late night treats if you wish.
