Our kayak trips in Crete are all coastal sea trips. We visit sheltered bays and hidden coves or if you are visiting near to Kalvyes we can visit the “Arab Galleon” and hear about the story of when…well that would be telling! You need to come and hear for yourself. From Kalvyes we can also provide a half day trip up river to a small village famous for it’s natural spring water. Full day sessions are also available with a BBQ or picnic on a secluded beach We use sit on kayaks which are suitable for people of all ages and levels of ability and have a range of locations to provide the type of experience you choose. All our locations are situated in Western Crete, in the Chania district.

Crete Adventures: Kayaking In Crete For Schools And Organised Groups

For school groups we use single or double seat sit-on-top style of kayak, it gives the pupil more confidence and makes it more easy to pick up new skills. We kayak from Kalyves harbour taking advantage of the sheltered bay. We will kayak out to “Rabbit Island” for a stop on a small beach and give the pupils a chance to explore the island with it’s little chapel and hidden cave. We will then visit the stone Arab Galleon for a chance to make some bigger jumps if they wish before returning to Kalyves for a refreshing cold drink.

You can choose from a half day kayak session taking in some Cretan coastline and visiting remote beaches, or take a full day session and learn some new kayak skills. We can also arrange a BBQ or picnic on a remote beach giving you a chance to swim or sunbath for a while before continuing your trip. This activity is subject to weather conditions, in high winds the activity may be postponed until the winds calms down. Most locations are in Western Crete but trips out from more remote locations can be arranged.
